Travel insurance. Don’t leave home without it!

Seriously. If you’re coming to visit Ho Chi Minh City, don’t leave home without Travel Insurance. One look at the crazy traffic, and you’ll be regretting your choice to travel without it. And, while I believe Saigon is relatively safe, snatch and grab crimes and soft muggings do happen.

As of last year, we switch over our comprehensive travel insurance cover to World Nomads. We still stand by Covermore for reliable travel insurance for Australians, but World Nomads gives us way more flexibility. Plus they insure people from just about every country in the world, not just Australians.

The major bonus for us is the ability to get cover, and extend that protection, while we’re already traveling. Most companies require you to leave and return to your country of residence during the term of your cover. They also include motorbike riding (very popular in Vietnam) and many other adventure activities for no extra cost.

We made a claim while in the Caribbean last year, and we can personally recommend their excellent response to my illness and their prompt reimbursement process. And, they are happy to cover us while we are working here in Saigon, which many travel insurance companies won’t.

Anyway, have a read of what they offer and at least get a FREE online quote. I have found their premiums to be super competitive, so it’s worth a look.

Disclosure: I was so impressed by their response to my illness last year, I signed up to be partners with World Nomads. That means I get a small commission if you buy a policy through any of the links or the Free Quote tool below. But hand on heart, I wouldn’t recommend them if I didn’t think they had a great product on offer. My integrity and your opinion of me are worth far more than the few pennies that I earn as their partner.
